We’re Going Paperless for Bus Fares

SolTrans is going paperless and eliminating all paper fare passes effective July 1, 2024. SolTrans already has several digital fare payment options available like Token Transit, Clipper Card (cash value and passes), and Clipper START. Exact cash and coins will continue to be accepted to purchase one-way fares and day passes on all local and express services.

SolTrans is also looking into Open Loop Payment readers, which will allow riders to pay with their debit, credit cards, or digital wallets to complete fare payments onboard SolTrans buses. Riders will no longer have to pay in cash or download any app in advance. More to come…
