Ways to Pay

Cash

Please have the exact fare ready as drivers do not carry change (you can overpay if you don’t have the exact amount). Put your money in the farebox located next to the driver; note that the farebox has a sticker that lists all fares.

Passes

Day passes can be purchased with cash directly from the farebox onboard buses. Day passes are valid for unlimited travel on fixed routes all day on the first day used. May only be purchased onboard the bus with the exact fare. Available to all Fare Categories for all Service Areas. Please put the pass in the farebox next to the driver with the arrow facing down.

Clipper Card

Clipper Card is the Bay Area’s all-in-one transit card. With Clipper, riders can load cash or passes onto their card. Riders can now load a Clipper card onto their phone with Apple Pay or Google Pay, and manage their balance with the Clipper app. To pay, tag the Clipper reader with your card or phone upon boarding the bus.

Token Transit

Token Transit is a mobile APP that lets you ride public transit with ease and convenience. Pay with your credit, debit, or commuter benefits card, and always have your pass with you.

If you are paying with cash and use more than one bus, you must pay a fare each time you board a different bus. (Day pass holders can ride without paying an additional fare.)
