Upcoming I-80 Closures Affect SolTrans Lines

Caltrans is scheduled to close eastbound and westbound I-80 on four different summer weekends between mid-July 2023 and early September 2023, for the Contra Costa I-80 Pavement Rehab Project. During the 56-hour weekend and 104-hour holiday full highway closures, Caltrans will perform major pavement repair work on eastbound and westbound I-80 in Contra Costa County. One tra­ffic direction on I-80 will be worked on at a time. Detours will be in effect. All work is weather and conditions dependent.

• Thursday, August 31st, 9 p.m. – Tuesday, September 5th, 5 a.m. closure of the WB I-80 at Vallejo and 780.

During the project, SolTrans Green Line, Route 82, and Red Line weekdays and weekends service will be affected. Detours are in effect and riders should expect significant delays due to detours and increased traffic. Saturday and Sunday Red Line Trips will be missed, see the schedules below.

Riders needing to connect to the greater Bay Area from Solano Couty should use the Yellow Line and Blue Line to connect to Walnut Creek BART. Both lines may have minor delays due to increased traffic.
