Service Alert: Benicia Rd Bridge Closure

Effective Early September 2021 to January 2022

Caltrans will begin work on the I-80 Six Bridges Project to increase the vertical clearance on six bridges that cross over Interstate 80(I-80) in Vallejo, the next bridge scheduled is Benicia Rd Bridge.

In order to support Caltrans in their efforts to get this project complete, Route 8 will detour around the bridge to Lemon and 780 causing a 5-10 minute delay after these stops:

• 8 – Benicia Rd & Carquinez (StopID 821086)
• 8 – Benicia Rd & Cedar (StopID 822097)

Vallejo Transit Center departure times will not be affected.

• For pedestrians and bicyclists- A 24-hr shuttle service will be available for those who need to safely cross Benicia Road Overcrossing. One shuttle stop will be located on each side of the bridge. The westbound shuttle stop will be located at the SolTrans Bus Stop ID 821118 on Benicia Rd and the eastbound shuttle stop will be located at the Park and Ride Parking lot next to the Chevron Gas Station.The shuttle stop phone number is (415)263-4000
