I-80 Closure Labor Day Weekend Affects SolTrans

Caltrans is scheduled to close westbound I-80 Labor Day Weekend beginning August 31, 2023, at 9 p.m. until Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at 5 a.m., for the Contra Costa I-80 Pavement Rehab Project. During 104-hour holiday full highway closure, Caltrans will perform major pavement repair work on westbound I-80 from westbound I-80/I-780 interchange in Vallejo to the I-80/Hwy 4 interchange. All work is weather and conditions dependent.
SolTrans SolanoExpress Lines (Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, and Route 82) will be affected during the project. Detours are in effect and riders should expect significant delays due to detours and increased traffic.

Riders needing to connect to the greater Bay Area from Solano Couty are encouraged to use the Blue Line and Yellow Line to connect to Walnut Creek BART. Blue and Yellow Lines will have significant delays and possible missed service due to increased traffic.

Green and Red Lines will detour and connect to BART at North Concord Station, see temporary schedule below. El Cerrito del Norte BART stop will be missed during the closure. Trips will be missed due to detours and anticipated traffic.

Route 82 will have delays and evening/late night service will be canceled, riders are encouraged to connect to SolTrans Blue and Yellow Lines at Walnut Creek BART Station to get to Solano County.
