Get In On A Scoop for National Ice Cream Day

When you think of summer, what first comes to mind? Hot weather? Swimming? The fear of being sunburned? If you didn’t guess ice cream, then brace yourself because July 21 is National Ice Cream Day! Although most of our buses don’t operate on Sundays, ice cream is the perfect treat to help you cool off under the heat and there are plenty of promotions offered that you can take advantage of ahead of time. We’ve made a list of ice cream shops around Vallejo that currently have ongoing deals to celebrate the holiday so you can get in on a scoop:

• Cold Stone Creamery (Route 7A) – Get a buy one get one coupon when you sign up for their rewards program.
• Baskin Robbins (Route 4) – Get a free regular-sized scoop by signing up for their Baskin Robbins app.
• Dairy Queen (Route 7A & Route 7B) – Try their new Summer Blizzard Treat Menu that only lasts for a limited time.
• V-Town Scoops (Route 1 & Route 2) – Promotions can vary since it’s a new local place that you surely need to try out, but they will have $1.50 scoops during this week only.

Did you know? Ice cream can even be traced back to as early as the 4th century, but the ice cream cone that we all love today was first introduced in the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair.

If you’re feeling creative and motivated, you can even make homemade ice cream within the comfort of your kitchen. With four simple ingredients and a Ziploc bag, your own sweet creations can be made within a matter of minutes.
