Meet the Team: Ronald “Ron” Freeman

SolTrans is thrilled to introduce Ron Freeman as the newest addition to our team, stepping into the role of Operations Manager. With a wealth of experience in public transit and a passion for improving rider experiences, Ron brings a dynamic perspective to our organization.

A Bay Area native, Ron’s journey in transportation began as a paratransit operator in the East Bay before serving in the Marine Corps. During his time in the Marines, Ron continued his involvement in transportation, gaining valuable experience as a motor vehicle operator and dispatcher in various locations, including Japan and Arlington, Virginia.

After his military service, Ron briefly worked with BART as an Operations Supervisor before joining Transdev, the same company that contracts with SolTrans, in Las Vegas. In his role there as Operations Manager, Ron oversaw a vast fleet of over 400 buses and a team of over 1,000 drivers. Despite professional success, Ron found himself longing for the Bay Area’s climate and diversity, prompting his return.

Now, as Operations Manager at SolTrans, Ron’s focus is clear: to enhance the rider’s experience and improve on-time performance. With a deep understanding of the importance of reliable service, Ron is committed to ensuring that SolTrans buses arrive promptly, facilitating seamless connections for riders and punctuality for their commitments.

One of Ron’s unique approaches is his hands-on involvement, often riding buses to engage directly with riders and understand their needs firsthand.
