Improvements for SolTrans Riders

Sereno Transit Center Beautification Project

SolTrans’ Sereno Transit Center is undergoing a vibrant transformation. Thanks to nearly one million dollars from a California Clean Air Grant secured in October 2023, and the leadership of SolTrans Program Analyst II, Angela Jackson, significant improvements are being made.

Riders are already seeing changes with custom murals by local artists adorning the drivers’ bathroom and utility boxes. Soon, new shelters, benches, lighting, trash receptacles, landscaping, and whimsical sidewalk paintings along Sereno will further enhance the space. All these improvements are expected to be completed by the end of 2024.

Angela Jackson, a Vallejo native and long-time public transit user, expressed her excitement by emphasizing, “Being able to give back to my community by making these improvements has been uplifting. I look forward to riders and the community enjoying them. It took a lot of work from many people to bring this together, and I am honored to have led this project.”

The SolTrans team will celebrate with a ribbon-cutting ceremony when the project is fully completed. Stay tuned for more information on the official completion date of this transformative project.
