Meet the Team: Angela Jackson

Transit Rider to Transit Leader

Angela Jackson grew up in Vallejo, right across the street from a bus stop. She was always intrigued and fascinated by the comings and goings of the bus and seeing the riders get on and off as they went about their day. As she grew up, she began using those same buses to get to school and various sports’ practices. She developed a love for basketball and softball which have both shaped her into the person she is today, and the bus played a significant role in helping her participate in those programs. A proud Vallejo High School graduate, Angela earned a basketball scholarship to California Maritime Academy. She then transferred to the University of the Pacific where she graduated with a BS in Engineering Management and a minor in Business Management.

After a few short experiences working at Cal Maritime in Vallejo and at Johnson & Johnson in Vacaville, Angela found her calling at SolTrans in 2016. Now, she oversees facility and bus shelter maintenance, security officers, and closed circuit TV operations. Angela’s job is to keep everything clean and functional; it is a challenging task that often requires creative solutions to keep things running smoothly.

One of Angela's current tasks is serving as the project lead for the Sereno Transit Center Beautification Project, showcasing her dedication and passion for her community. She loves helping people use the bus and enjoys interacting with them throughout her day. Her greatest joy over the past eight years has been the heartfelt thanks from people she has helped, with the bus or by helping to resolve issues at transit centers.

When she's not busy with SolTrans’ projects, Angela is a devoted fan of the Giants, 49ers, and the Warriors. She also loves volunteering, especially with programs that help children in Vallejo. Angela Jackson’s commitment to her community and to her role at SolTrans are infused with great dedication and passion . Her example is a testament to the power of public service and the impact one person can have on an entire community.
