2021-IFB-02 Maintenance Facility Yard Improvements for Battery Electric Bus Fleet


Solano County Transit (SolTrans) will receive sealed construction bids for the: Maintenance Facility Yard Improvements for Battery Electric Bus Fleet by an electronic bidding process. Paper bids will not be accepted. Electronic bids shall be submitted through until 11:30 AM on Thursday, April 22, 2021 after which time said bids will be opened electronically only due to COVID restrictions. 

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting for the project will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:30 AM in the SolTrans Conference Room located at 1850 Broadway Street, Vallejo, CA 94589. 

General work description: Installation of a new steel structure canopy located over the existing bus parking spaces intended to provide support for Battery Electric Bus charging equipment and solar panels. The project also includes new electrical distribution underground and above ground with modifications to the existing building. The steel structure canopy will require deep underground piers and tie beams resulting in demolition and replacement of some existing concrete under the Caltrans 2018 Standard Specifications and Standard Plans.

 The Engineer’s cost estimate is approximately $7,600,000 and the completion time is 250 working days. A Class B General Engineering Contractors license is required and the successful bidder must pay prevailing wages.
