2021-IFB-02 Maintenance Facility Yard Improvements for Battery Electric Bus Fleet

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Solano County Transit (SolTrans) will receive sealed construction bids for the: Maintenance Facility Yard Improvements for Battery Electric Bus Fleet by an electronic bidding process. Paper bids will not be accepted. Electronic bids shall be submitted through https://www.bidexpress.com/solicitations/24427 until 11:00 AM PST on Thursday, June 23, 2022 after which time said bids will be opened electronically only. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids are valid for 120 calendar days after the bid opening date. All bidders must register on www.bidexpress.com and create a Digital ID through Bid Express to submit a bid. 

Contract Documents will be available from www.bidexpress.com. Any addenda issued for this project will
also be available at that website.

A pre-bid (pre-proposal) meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. PST in the SolTrans Conference Room located at 1850 Broadway Street, Vallejo, CA 94589. Prospective bidder’s attendance is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but not mandatory.

Description of Work: The work to be done includes the installation of a new steel structure canopy located
over the existing bus parking spaces intended to provide support for Battery Electric Bus charging
equipment and solar panels. The project also includes new electrical distribution underground and above
ground with modifications to the existing building. The steel structure canopy will require deep underground piers and tie beams resulting in demolition and replacement of some existing concrete.

The Engineer’s cost estimate is approximately $11,000,000.00 and the completion time is 250 working days. The Contractor must have a Class B General Engineering Contractors license.
