System-Wide Service Improvements

After the completion of the 2018 Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) and SolanoExpress Corridor Study the SolTrans Board has approved the following implementation plan for the SolTrans System-wide Service Improvements. 

PHASE I

Effective Sunday, June 30, 2019

Printable System Map, effective June 30, 2019

Route 1*

  • Bus every 30 minutes
  • The northern portion of Route 1 moving from Broadway St. to Sonoma Blvd
  • Bus every 15 minutes on northern Sonoma Blvd. in coordination with Route 2

Route 2*

  • Bus every 30 minutes
  • Northwest portion of Route 2 moving onto Sonoma Blvd
  • Bus every 15 minutes on northern Sonoma Blvd in coordination with Route 1
  • Streamlined to remove poorly designed one-way segment in northeast Vallejo (to shorten inbound trip timeframe from 56 min to 30 min)
  • Connects to Gateway Plaza via Route 7A Clockwise

Route 3*

  • Bus every 30 minutes
  • Streamlined by moving Glen Cove Parkway portion to the Route 8

Route 4

  • Bus every 60 minutes
  • Streamlined on Tuolumne and Hospital

Route 6*

  • Bus every 60 minutes
  • Service area extended to include Ascot Pkwy and Georgia St east of Oakwood

Route 7A Clockwise*

  • Bus every 30 minutes clockwise from VTC (Vallejo Transit Center)
  • Provides new east-west connection in northern Vallejo
  • Allows for connections to all other local routes in several areas (downtown, Sereno Transit Center, Kaiser, Gateway Plaza, Solano Community College and Springs Road)

Route 7B Counterclockwise*

  • Bus every 30 minutes in counterclockwise directions from VTC
  • Provides new east-west connection in northern Vallejo
  • Allows for connections to all other local routes in several areas (downtown, Sereno Transit Center, Kaiser, Gateway Plaza, Solano Community College and Springs Road)

Route 8*

  • Bus every 60 minutes
  • Rerouted by removing Ascot Pkwy/Georgia and adding Glen Cove Pkwy

Yellow Line

  • Timepoints updated to better connect with SolTrans new local service, BART and the Vallejo ferry terminal.

Red Line Weekday Weekend

  • Merger of Routes 80 and 85
  • New stop: Suisun City/ Fairfield Amtrak
  • New Stop: Six Flags/ North Vallejo on CA-37 slip ramp
  • New Stop: Suisun Valley Rd/ Kaiser Dr serving Solano Community College
  • One seat service to Fairfield-El Cerrito del Norte BART and back
  • Route 82 will continue to run weekdays to the San Francisco Ferry Terminal

Additional changes*

  • Consistent hourly service on Routes 2 and 7 on Saturdays
  • Consistent hourly service on Routes 1 and 7 on Sundays
  • Bus Stop Update
    • Along with route improvements, bus stops have been modified based on safety, distance and new routing, including stops in all three Transit Centers.
    • Stops within Transit Centers have been adjusted
    • Route 5 stops have been adjusted

Note that Routes 15, 17, 38 and any routes that serve schools will be adjusted in August 2019 to accommodate bell schedules.

PHASE II

Effective Fall 2019

Discontinuation of Route 20 and Benicia GP Dial-A-Ride *

  • Discontinue poorly performing and unproductive Route 20 and General Public Dial-A-Ride*
  • Replace Route 20 with subsidized-Lyft/Taxi Service within Benicia to designated stops in Vallejo
  • Replace General Public Dial-A-Ride with subsidized-Lyft/Taxi Service within Benicia

Additional Changes*

  • Extend all weekday service hours to 9 PM on all local routes (school-tripper Routes 15 and 17 excluded)
