SolTrans supports the Arts in Vallejo with FREE bus rides to the Art Walk

The annual Vallejo Art Walk is here again, and SolTrans has partnered with the artist community in an effort to support their event in downtown Vallejo. SolTrans will be offering free rides every 2^nd Friday of the month on all local routes. SolTrans invites all to join the activities in downtown Vallejo on April (12^th), May (10^th), June (14^th), July (12^th), August (9^th), September (13^th), October (11^th), November (8^th), and December (13^th) from 4 PM until the end of local bus service (local fixed-routes only) by showing your “Art Walk Passport” for the event. Riders can get an Art Walk Passport from the Vallejo Transit Center Ticket Office, Empress Theatre, the Visit Vallejo Kiosk at the Ferry Building and various galleries that will be open for the popular Art Walk.

The Art Walk is located in downtown Vallejo, a very walk-able distance from the Vallejo Transit Center. Just hop on one of the local routes with your Art Walk Passport to downtown Vallejo to be immersed in some of the best talent the Bay Area has to offer. Program Analyst for SolTrans, Mandi Renshaw had this to say about the Art Walk, “Our main focus at SolTrans is to encourage local ridership and to promote Vallejo’s monthly Local Artists Art Walk. By making it easier and more convenient for people to attend community events like the Art Walk, we hope to inspire people in the community to come out and experience them. We want to get you out and about in our community. We’re excited to be a part of Art Walk and other great, upcoming events in Vallejo.”

There are a couple exceptions to this promotion: the passport is not valid on SolanoExpress Routes; and Clipper riders and 31-Day pass holders should not tap their card if they are utilizing the promotion. Just present your Art Walk Passport and board.
