SolanoExpress Blue Line Joins SolTrans

Mandi Renshaw

In the fall of 2021, Solano Transportation Authority (STA) decided to consolidate the SolanoExpress Lines to be operated by one agency.  SolTrans, who is the current operator of the Green, Red, and Yellow Lines will be the single operator of all 4 SolanoExpress Lines. The Blue Line is the final SolanoExpress service to transition from Fairfield and Suisun Transit (FAST). SolTrans will assume operation of the Blue Line on Monday, August 8, 2022, with a reduced schedule. The temporary reduction is due to a staffing shortage and production delays on the new buses needed to provide the service.

The Transition brings a new bus fleet, new management, new staff, and new uniforms to the Blue Line.

What does the transition mean for the passengers? SolTrans passengers will have access to:

  • Real-time bus information and real-time service alerts through the various technologies SolTrans offer like: SolTrans.org, Transit App, Moovit App, and 511.org.
  • Token Transit App for mobile fare purchases.
  • Passengers can continue to use paper and Clipper passes on the Blue Line.

The Blue Line Schedule and more information about the August Service Change will be available after Monday, June 20, 2022.
