Press Release: SolTrans Hops on the Bus for Public Feedback

2.13.19 SolTrans Hops of the Bus for Public Comment

Vallejo, CA – On January 21, 2019 SolTrans opened the Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) Proposed Local Routes and Service Changes for public comment. To make sure everyone has an opportunity to review and comment on the proposals the SolTrans team has been hosting on the bus “Townhalls” passing out fliers and talking to riders about the proposed changes. Staff will continue to focus sharing the proposals and gathering feedback until the Public comment ends with a Public Hearing at SolTrans Board Meeting March 21, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the Vallejo Room at the JFK Library 505 Santa Clara Street Vallejo, CA. Below are the Routes and dates you can expect to see SolTrans staff on the bus:

➢ Route 3: Feb 13-20,
➢ Route 6: Feb 21-27,
➢ Route 7: Feb 29 -Mar 6,
➢ Route 8: Mar 7-13

Staff will also be hosting several workshops at various locations in Vallejo and Benicia, visit SolTrans Community Meetings Page for a list of all locations and dates.
The COA Proposed Local Routes and Service Changes include extending weekday local service until 9 p.m., changes to Routes 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 20 and General Public Dial-A-Ride and increase frequency to the local service on Saturdays. “We are really excited about these proposed changes, Vallejo and Benicia has changed so much since the last time the service was updated. And what better way to hear what the riders need then to sit with them on the bus.” Said Bisi Ibrahim, Program Analyst II and COA lead from SolTrans.

A summary is also available in print from the Vallejo Transit Center Ticket office at 311 Sacramento Street, Vallejo. SolTrans would like to invite every member of the public to provide feedback from now until the end of the public comment period on March 21, 2019.

Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has been the public transportation provider for south Solano County since July 2011. SolTrans provides local and regional fixed routes, complementary paratransit, dial-a-ride service, and subsidized taxi programs. The agency is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that is governed by a six-member Board of Directors, composed of two representatives from the cities of Benicia and Vallejo, Solano County’s representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and a representative from the Solano Transportation Authority.
