FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vallejo, CA – Solano County Transit (SolTrans) is excited to announce that longtime employee Suzanne Fredriksen earned her designation as Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) in late October 2020. Suzanne received the accreditation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC). Suzanne has been with SolTrans since it began operations in July 2011, and is a valued employee not only amongst the SolTrans team, but among the officials that she works with regularly in Benicia, Vallejo and Solano County.

IIMC grants the MMC designation only to those municipal clerks who complete demanding educational requirements; and who have a record of significant contributions to their local government, their community and state. In light of the speed and drastic nature of changes this year, lifelong learning is not only desirable, it is necessary for all in local government to keep pace with growing demands and changing needs of the community and riders they serve. SolTrans takes immense pride in Suzanne’s educational accomplishments and achievement of this milestone.

“I am very proud to be a part of SolTrans, an agency that places such high value upon employee learning and development. I love the municipal clerk profession and the opportunities it has given me to serve the public. It has certainly been well worth all of the hard work, long hours and focus that it took to attain both my Certified Municipal Clerk designation and Master Municipal Clerk designation, in order to provide the best public service possible to SolTrans and the community.”  Suzanne stated.

The International Institute of Municipal Clerks, founded in 1947, has 14,000 members throughout the United States, Canada and 15 other countries, and the mission of this global non-profit corporation is to enhance the education opportunities and professional development of its diverse membership.
