FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Solano County, CA – On Monday, April 4, 2022, Solano County Transit (SolTrans) and the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) will lower fares on the SolanoExpress Green Line (formerly called Green Express and provides transit service between Suisun City/Fairfield and El Cerrito del Norte BART station), from $5.75 for an Adult Single Use fare to $5.00, and from $130 for a Monthly (31 Day) Pass to $114. This brings fares in line for all four SolanoExpress Routes, and the price of a single-use fare between Fairfield and BART will cost less than a gallon of gas.

In addition, STA’s Solano Mobility Program is extending the “2 for 1” promotion through August 2022.  Passengers who have already redeemed a free matching pass (day pass or monthly pass) will be allowed to participate again and receive a second free matching transit pass. For more information and to confirm eligibility, please contact the Solano Mobility Call Center at 800-535-6883.

“We want to support the public returning to work and make transit an attractive option, which in return will help reduce traffic congestion, especially in the I-80 corridor, Beth Kranda, SolTrans Executive Director said. “Lowering the fare is a great incentive to trade in the car for bus and thank our current SolanoExpress riders.”

The Green Line fare will match “Outside County” fares shown on the Fare Table below. The “All SolanoExpress Lines” passes which were sold for use on the Green Express at the current higher fare, whether Clipper or magnetic striped paper passes, will stop working on buses after Friday, May 27, 2022. The SolanoExpress “Outside Solano County Blue, Yellow, and Red Lines” passes will be accepted on the Green Line beginning Monday, April 4, 2022.
