NEWS RELEASE
May 1, 2020
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Vallejo, CA- With the Solano County Shelter-in-Place mandate extended through May 17, 2020, Solano County Transit will continue to provide service based on the COVID-19 Travel Limitations schedules. Service hours and individual route schedules can be found at SolTrans.org.

SolTrans planning staff is working persistently on a transition plan for public transportation services in Benicia and Vallejo. Our priority is the health and safety of our staff and passengers, our plan for the next few months is to monitor ridership demand and health and safety directives from state and national level. Restoring service may happen in multiple phases over a period of time, riders can expect service to be as it is currently through the summer of 2020.

The following policies will continue to be enforced until further notice. Please only travel for essential services. When riding we continue to ask riders to:

  • Wear a face cover when out in public.
  • Follow standing designators installed at the Vallejo Transit Center while waiting for your bus or stay 6’ apart from other riders while waiting at a stop.
  • Board at the rear doors on local buses. Those who need assistance from the ramp may board at the front doors, please signal the operator.
  • Stay six feet apart from the bus operators and fellow riders while riding the bus.
  • Operators may enforce capacity restraints on all services for the safety of our passengers and staff.

If you must take the bus, plan ahead by checking the SolTrans website for schedules and service alerts prior to all travel.

Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has been the public transportation provider for south Solano County since July 2011. SolTrans provides local and SolanoExpress fixed routes, complementary paratransit, and subsidized Lyft programs. The agency is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that is governed by a six-member Board of Directors, composed of two representatives from the cities of Benicia and Vallejo, Solano County’s representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and a representative from the Solano Transportation Authority.
