COA Proposed Local Service Changes by March 21, 2019

Press Release Request for Public Comment

VALLEJO – SolTrans would like to remind the public that they have until Thursday, March 21, 2019 for final comments on their Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA): Proposed Local Service Changes. The public can comment directly to the SolTrans Board at their board meeting on March 21st that will be held at the JFK Library in the Vallejo Room, 1st Floor, 505 Santa Clara Street in Vallejo.

The proposed changes affect Routes 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 and 20, as well as Benicia General Public Dial-A-Ride. It also includes a proposal to increase service hours on local routes until 9:00 PM on weekdays.
Since public comment opened on January 21, 2019 staff has hosted 13 public workshops in Benicia and Vallejo to explain the proposals and receive feedback. Staff has also spent over 180 hours meeting with the public on-board buses to make sure everyone has an opportunity to provide feedback. The route and service proposals are the result of a comprehensive study that began in July 2018. The proposed changes are a result of three working papers that expound on a study of the demographics of Benicia and Vallejo through 2030, public-input gathering from various meetings held last summer, an analysis of the productivity and efficiency of current local services, and proposals of feasible service alternatives.

More information about the proposed changes can be found by clicking COA: Proposed Route and Service Changes, Request for Public Comment from the SolTrans homepage (soltransride.com). A summary is also available in print from the Vallejo Transit Center Ticket Office at 311 Sacramento Street, Vallejo.
