SolTrans Releases December Service Changes

Vallejo, CA – Solano County Transit (SolTrans) will implement a service change on Sunday, December 5, 2021. These changes are minimal and only affect a few routes. Planning staff is continuing to closely monitor and adapt to changing transit travel patterns and transportation needs as riders return to work, school, and other destinations.

To help reduce traffic congestion and support the public returning to work the Route 82, service from Vallejo to the San Francisco Ferry Building and back, will reduce its fare by 40%. The new lower fare for the Route 82 will be $6 for adults, $5 for youth, and $3 for Reduced (seniors and persons with disabilities) riders.

“Our hope for this service change is that the service and new lower fares will set the stage for a great start to 2022.  We’re looking forward to increased ridership and welcoming new riders and those we haven’t seen in a while back to transit.” Said Senior Analyst in scheduling and Marketing Mandi Renshaw

The service change is in response to the Caltrans I-80 Six Bridge Project on Magazine St Bridge being complete. In early 2021 the Magazine Street Bridge was closed to traffic and greatly impacted the Route 3. The Route 3 Eastbound will no longer detour after Curtola Park and Ride Hub and will again serve the Beverly Hills area. Service to the stop at Magazine & Gary Circle (Stop ID 822085) will again be active. The Route 8 will no longer detour along Fulton and stay on Glen Cove Parkway. The Route 8 is will still have minor delays due to the construction on the Benicia Rd Bridge, due to complete in early 2022.

Other minor timing adjustments were made to routes 7A, 7B, and Red Line, please check updated timetables at SolTrans.org.

SolTrans has lifted all capacity restrictions on all services, which has helped accommodate the increase in ridership. Face masks are still required by federal law on all planes, buses, trains & all other forms of public transportation.

Solano County Transit (SolTrans) has been the public transportation provider for south Solano County since July 2011. SolTrans provides local and SolanoExpress fixed routes, complementary paratransit, and subsidized Lyft programs. The agency is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) that is governed by a six-member Board of Directors, composed of two representatives from the cities of Benicia and Vallejo, Solano County’s representative on the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), and a representative from the Solano Transportation Authority.
