Calling all art lovers! Are you ready to unleash your creative side and enjoy a night of art, entertainment, and food trucks?

If you haven’t heard about it already, the Vallejo Art Walk is the perfect fusion of local art, culture and community. The rich diversity of Vallejo is exhibited and celebrated through a variety of art mediums ranging from music and photography to paintings and ceramics. This free event features something that you, your friends, and family can enjoy.

The Vallejo Art Walk occurs the second Friday of every month from 5pm to 10pm and is located in downtown Vallejo at the intersection of Marin and Georgia Street. The location is conveniently adjacent to the Vallejo Transit Center, which means you can take 9 of our local routes to attend this upcoming event on Friday, July 12th. The dates to the following 2019 Art Walks are listed below:

  • July 12
  • August 9
  • September 13
  • October 11
  • November 8

One way we at SolTrans display our love for the arts is with a special battery-electric bus that is decorated in a colorful mural of Benicia and Vallejo residents using public transportation. If you have attended local parades, you may have spotted this zero-emission masterpiece in action. The creative mind behind the bus mural is Miro Salazar. He is a Vallejo resident that has created art for Ghirardelli, San Francisco Zoo, and Kaiser Permanente. Salazar was perfect for the job and encapsulated how we strive to connect the community with safe and accessible transportation.

Another way we display our love is getting you to the event itself! We’ve partnered with the artist community to provide further support to the event by offering our Art Walk Passports. With these Passports, riders are able to ride free during the dates listed above from 4pm until the end of service. Please note that the Passports are not valid for SolanoExpress routes and that Clipper riders and 31-Day pass holders should not tap their card if utilizing the promotion. Simply present Passport and board.

Riders interested in getting free Art Walk Passports can visit the Vallejo Transit Center. If you are interested in the amazing creations of local artists make sure to stop by the Vallejo Art Walk this Friday.
