Have you decided where to watch the fireworks extravaganza this year? If you are still researching the best locations to watch the show, here are some local options to consider:

  • Vallejo – Mad Hatter’s July 4th Waterfront Celebration: What’s better than celebrating America’s Birthday with a dog parade, giant kites, live music, food courts, cultural performances and more? Starting at 11 a.m. until the fireworks show at night, come out to 295 Mare Island Way for a day full of fun! It is a free event where there is something for everyone to enjoy!
  • Benicia – City Park 4th of July Fireworks: Enjoy a day of arts and crafts, delicious hot food, live entertainment and children’s activities! It is a great opportunity to celebrate Independence Day with a family picnic in the park and enjoy fireworks at First Street starting around 9 p.m. The best part of the event is that it completely FREE!
  • Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Coca-Cola® July 4th Fest: End a day of thrilling amusement park rides with a Star-Spangled Spectacular that is choreographed to a classic patriotic soundtrack. The celebration is repeated from July 3-6 to extend the fun. There is no better time to break out the season passes or get your tickets for entrance to the park.

It is important to note that SolTrans buses will be out of service on July 4th. We encourage riders to plan ahead and complete their grocery shopping and travel prior in the week. Route 7A and Route 7B can be used to get to Target, Costco and Walmart. If you are traveling to family for the holiday we recommend the Yellow Line to get to Benicia or BART stations in the East Bay. The new Red Line will also be available to travel from Fairfield to El Cerrito del Norte BART and back.

On behalf of SolTrans, we hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July this year!
