Next Stop: Solano Town Center on Red Line

Next Stop is a series that focuses on activities, eateries and shopping locations near SolTrans bus stops throughout Solano County and will have semi-weekly installments throughout the summer. In case you missed it, here’s the previous ‘Next Stop’ article featuring Springstowne Shopping Center.

At our last stop, we visited Springstowne Shopping Center on Route 7A and 7B and looked at all of the possibilities for leisure and dining. If you are looking to get out of Benicia and Vallejo, look no further because the Red Line can take you all the way to Solano Town Center in Fairfield. For $5.50, a day pass will allow you to take the Red Line to and from the Solano Town Center from Monday through Saturday. You can either hop on at Curtola Park & Ride or Vallejo Transit Center. From either location, the trip should take about an hour with easy access wifi available on board. Once you arrive at the Solano Town Center there is an abundance of activities to choose from: 

• Food: If you’re looking for a sit-down restaurant, you can stop by Buffalo Wild Wings or Red Robin. Boneless wings are discounted every Thursday at Buffalo Wild Wings and Red Robin has an amazing summer deal; get a gourmet burger with a bottomless drink and fries for just $10. If you are looking for more casual options you could stop by the food court which offers a variety of fast food chain favorites. Craving desserts too? You can’t go wrong with See’s Candies because they’ll be giving away free lollipops on July 20.

• Shopping: Do you feel like freshening up your summer wardrobe? You’re in luck because the mall has options to complement everyone’s style. Right now, Dick’s Sporting Goods is offering some of the hottest deals, including up to 50% off swimwear and athletic apparel. For the month of July, Forever 21 is also offering 40% off all swimwear. These are only a small portion of stores that are offering discounts, so be on the lookout!

• Entertainment: One of the main Solano Town Center hotspots is the Regal Edwards Theatre. It is the perfect spot to watch anticipated summer movies like Spider-Man: Far From Home and Toy Story 4. Tickets can be expensive so we suggest taking advantage of the $1 kid movies every Tuesday and Wednesday morning throughout the summer. If you’re not in the mood for movies,  feel free to check out Playlive Nation and Tilt if you’re looking to kill some time.

Fun Fact: Red Robin is a recipient of the Energy Star, a certification given to products and companies who strive to save energy and protect the climate.

After you have enjoyed a day of fun you can use your day pass to catch the Red Line back to Vallejo. On weekdays the last bus leaves at 9:25 pm and on Saturday the last bus leaves the Solano Town Center at 9:50 pm. Be sure to take advantage of the Red Line to the Solano Town Center this summer; you won’t be disappointed!
