At the farmer’s markets, there’s always something to see, eat, or do for individuals of all ages. They’re fun, entertaining, and there is no excuse to miss out, especially since there are plenty of farmer’s markets near where you live. You can get groceries, hot meals, fresh produce, listen to live music, and more.

There are two local farmer’s markets in Vallejo. One takes place Fridays at 10 am in front of Kaiser Permanente; Route 5, Route 7A, or Route 7B will drop you off right in front. The other farmer’s market, you can take either Route 2 or Route 3 on Saturdays to Georgia and Marin Street (starts at 8 am). Meet with other locals around town and pick up fresh fruits and veggies, or try out any of the other products offered. You can also purchase a variety of tasty sweet treats or grab beautiful bouquets of flowers. There’s local art to see, artisan soaps to smell, and an endless amounts of food to devour.

The Benicia Farmer’s Market runs from October 24th, open on Thursdays from 4 pm to 8 pm and located on First Street between B and D Streets. This year marks the 27th season of the Benicia Certified Farmers Market. This farmers market has activities for the children as well, including face painting and an inflatable bounce house. They offer a variety of farm fresh produce to numerous gourmet food vendors and the Yellow Line drops you off a few blocks away. Pro-tip: don’t miss out on the iconic donuts, live music, and arts and crafts.

Finally, the Yellow Line connects you to County Connection’s Route 4 to get you to the year-round, Concord Farmer’s Market that takes place in Todos Santos Plaza on Tuesdays from 10 am to 2 pm and on Thursday evenings from 4 pm to 8 pm. The market will be running all through April until October and has live music and even a park for children to play. They also have some vendors that offer some of the most unique food you can find in the Bay Area, including the tasty zombie — a gooey and cheesy concoction of warm bread and burger meat.
