Holiday Shopping

Shopping in-store and online this holiday season

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, many of us are preparing for what occurs immediately after: Black Friday. Black Friday, as we’re well aware, is officially the beginning of the holiday shopping frenzy. To help you make it safely through the chaos, follow these Black Friday shopping tips.

With that said, Cyber Monday, is the other big event that shoppers look forward to every holiday season. Shopping online offers us the comfort and convenience of shopping in our pajamas, but it can be as daunting as navigating Black Friday crowds. Paying close attention to these Cyber Monday tips can help protect you and your identity from cyber attacks.

With all these deals going on online and in stores, it’s easy to forget about small competitors — the mom-and-pop shops in our local communities. Thankfully, there’s a day even for them: Shop Small Business Saturday! This year, the 10th annual Shop Small Business Saturday makes a return on the day after Black Friday: Saturday, November 30, 2019.

Small Business Saturday is a day meant to help our local businesses stay alive in the age of e-commerce. By shopping at participating locations, you’ll be supporting our small business communities. Shops like Vallejo Vinyl and Pinball, Boutique Classique, and Class Act are all participating.

If you’ve already completed your holiday shopping but would still like to support your local businesses, you can dine at participating restaurants, like these establishments on Redwood & Sonoma.

To help get you to your favorite local business, SolTrans is offering free local fare this Thanksgiving weekend from November 29 – December 1. Happy holidays and happy shopping!
