It’s that time again! Local radio is playing Christmas music and your family is in your business way more than usual. To keep your family happy (occupied) this season, I’ve put together a short list of fun family events.
On December 4, the SolTrans Holiday Open House will take place at the Vallejo Transit Center from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to enjoy refreshments, music, and more in celebration of the holidays.
On December 6, Benicia residents can enjoy free SolTrans “sleigh” rides to First St. merchants’ holiday tree lighting and open house. Everyone is welcome at this event where merchants will offer beverages and treats for attendees while costumed carolers sing your favorite holiday songs. Families can enjoy the festivities until the tree lighting at approximately 6:30 p.m.
In downtown Vallejo, the tenth annual Mad Hatter Holiday Festival is happening on Saturday, December 7. Festival activities will take place in Unity Plaza at the JFK library starting at 2 p.m. The Mad Hatter parade begins at 4:30 p.m. on Georgia St. and Sonoma Blvd. and the tree lighting ceremony follows at 6 p.m.
From December 9-13, the Greater Vallejo Recreation District will be hosting several events, all taking place at Children’s Wonderland Park from 4-8 p.m. Then on December 14, enjoy GVRD’s annual breakfast with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves at the Norman C. King community center from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
All events are accessible with public transit, and as a reminder, SolTrans December services changes have gone into effect.
